Pre-School, finally!

A month and four school interviews after, we have finally found the perfect school for Sophie--Sacred Heart Academy of Pasig (SHAP). 

A sister school of Sacred Heart Academy of Novaliches (SHAN), where one of my in-laws went to, SHAP has an impressive facade, a very well-organized system and a separate entrance and wing for pre-schoolers. From its website, Sacred Heart Academy started as a Sunday school catechism school in La Loma QC, founded by Sacred Heart devotees in 1947. 

SHAP is ideally located 15 minutes away from our condo. 

On June 15, Sophie will attend a school open house which I will be accompanying her to. It will be like getting her feet wet, so to speak. The following day, June 16, Saturday, Julius and I will be attending the parent-teacher orientation, also with Sophie. All these to prepare her for the June 20 opening of classes, where Sophie will be an incoming junior kinder student and will be in school from 1130-230PM. 

We have been preparing Sophie's things since last month. We have the complete uniforms--both PE and jumpers, the socks, the junior kinder kit, the shoes etc etc. I am looking forward to June 20 when she will get to really use it. We just have to wait for the books which will be coming from my inlaw's school in La Union  and then I will order the remaining three books. Imagine, at her level, they already have 7 books and they will only be in school for three hours max! 

We have a couple of condo neighbors whose kids go to SHAP. They are Sophie's friends and they seem like nice kids. I hope Sophie will outgrow her natural shyness and make more friends. I also hope that come February, in time for her birthday, Sophie will have more friends to invite and I will have more parent friends to meet.
